Geogian Teapot, London 1794, Sterling Silver, Henry Chawner, George III

🇬🇧 Lovely and sober teapot from the George III period or the Directoire period if we take French history as a frame of reference. It is executed in sterling silver (925 ‰) and is, despite its great age, in very good condition. On one of two sides is applied a cartouche of the same period in the shape of a shield engraved with the intertwined initials N D. On the bottom are the four regulatory hallmarks of the city of London for the year 1794 and the renowned silversmith Henry Chawner. The handle and fretel are blackened wood, probably ebony. It weighs 485 grams.

🇫🇷 Ravissante et sobrissime théière d'époque George III ou d'époque Directoire si on prends l'histoire française comme cadre de référence.
Elle est exécutée en argent massif sterling (925%) et se trouve ,malgré son grand âge ,en très belle état .   Sur un de deux côtés est appliqué une cartouche de la même époque en forme d'écu gravé aux initiales entrelacées N D. 
Sur le fond se trouvent les quatre poinçons réglementaires de la ville de Londres pour l'année 1794 et l'orfèvre Henry Chawner .
Le manche et le fretel sont en bois noirci , probablement de l'ébène.
Elle pèse 485 grammes .
